Are Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Related to Narcissistic Abuse and PTSD? by Angie | May 5, 2017 (Visited 584 times, 1 visits today) 1 Comment Helen on May 6, 2017 at 9:50 am I find this article extremely interesting, my father is a narcissist and I have suffered with chronic health problems since I was a child (I am now 38). I am convinced all these conditions were caused by stress, due to emotional abuse. I now know I have always suffered from depression as well. All my health issues lasted 10 years or more. From 13 – 23 I had excess stomach acid which meant I couldn’t eat properly. From 19 – 36 I suffered with psoriasis, from 27 – 38 I suffered back pain which was diagnosed after 10 years to be a very rare benign spinal tumour (myxopapillary ependymoma). Tumours can be caused/accelerated by stress, and although there is no proof, I believe in my heart that it was caused by abuse. I have always wondered if those who do /have suffered with this type of tumour also suffered abuse or whether, as the doctors say, there is no reason.
