Okay folks, let me preface this entry by saying that I don’t normally allow myself to be affected by stupid lies or rumors regarding politics, nor do I normally allow myself to even focus on politics in general. However, I feel that this needs to be said, so here goes.
First, let me start with McCain. I believe that he chose Ms. Palin as his VP running mate to counter Obama’s underdog status–wise choice, in a way. Even though I would’ve voted Hillary given the option, I will not switch over to McCain simply because he chose a candidate with a vagina. Nor will I vote for him because she has a baby, who happens to have Down’s syndrome. Nor will I vote for her because she’s a fellow breastfeeder, nor will her daughter’s current predicament affect my vote. I DO think, though, that the media and every one else needs to leave Ms. Palin’s daughter alone. She is not the candidate, nor is it any of my (or anyone else’s) business what goes on with that girl.
Now, let me move on to Barack Obama. Initially, I wasn’t thrilled with this guy, but mostly because I didn’t really give him a chance. I was all over the whole Hillary Clinton thing, but since that didn’t work out, I took another look. One thing I know for sure: I don’t want another four years with a republican president. My family is being directly affected by some of the issues that Obama promises to correct, and the same issues McCain seems to be ignoring or misunderstanding.
That said, y’all know where my vote is going. But I digress…
I have to say this, and I apologize in advance if anyone is offended. However, here we go. If I get ONE MORE stupid, lie filled email about Barack Obama (or any other candidate, for that matter) I truly think my head might explode. I am sick to death of everyone and their brother emailing me lies and bullshit about Obama. I don’t care what lies you choose to believe, or what truths you think you know. I just don’t want to hear it.
I used to go to snopes.com and look up the truth, and send it back to you and everyone on your email…but I don’t have time any more. So, here is what I have to ask you…
If you choose to email lies around the world, skip me. I have no interest in them, and I will no longer even look at them. I am working hard to remove all negative influences from my world, and this one’s easy. Just a click of the junk button, and all gone.
Forgive the rant, but I really feel that it needed to be said. Oh, and for those who are still reading, here is the link to Obama’s page on snopes.com. Do me a favor and check it before you forward the next Obama email. While you’re there, read up on him. He’s a pretty good guy, and NOT who you think most likely.
One more thing: remember this: The candidate who receives the most energy from the constituants, be it good or bad, usually wins. So if you’re so anti-Obama (or McCain, or whomever) the best thing you can do to lower his chances of winning is to STOP DIRECTING YOUR ENERGY TOWARDS HIS CAMPAIGN. Giving energy to anything, positive or negative, only helps it.
Learn it…live it…love it.
