September 14: National Cream-Filled Donut Day
Welcome to our new column: Holiday Everyday – it’s all about celebrating every day! Here’s where we’ll share the holiday of the day, every day.
September 14 is National Cream-Filled Donut Day!
Donuts were first introduced in the U.S. back in the mid 1800s, thanks to Dutch settlers who loved their pastries. Hansen Gregory is credited with creating the first official “donut with hole” – but some other mystery baker came up wiht the delicious treat of the day – the cream-filled donut.
Delicious tidbit: the Boston creme donut became the official donut of its namesake city back in 2013.

September is National Celiac Awareness Month
Increasing celiac disease diagnoses through family member education and testing is a top priority for the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA). This Celiac Disease Awareness Month, NFCA encourages you to TALK to your family about their genetic risk. TELL them the facts. URGE them to test.
