If you haven’t already guessed, the “stuff that keeps me up at night” can also be described as subjects that stick in my head–the ones I can’t stop thinking about and am often forced (mostly by my own OCD) to research and study.
So, since I went from being a freelancer to a small business owner when I launched my company, BlissFire Media, I had to figure out what to do with this website. I knew it could still serve as a portfolio of sorts, but since I have the BlissFireMedia.com site, I didn’t feel it was necessary.
Then I thought–you know, I don’t really have a place to write about the stuff that keeps me up at night. All those things that keep me awake–the ideas that swirl through my head, the concepts and ideas that scream through my sleep. These aren’t bad things, necessarily, either–just things that matter to me in one way or another.
I’m a really creative person by nature, and ideas hit me like lightning bolts. Sometimes they have a place to be expressed, and other times, they just sit on an Evernote tab on my phone, or in a back corner of my brain, just waiting for the right moment to spring forth from my tongue.
So yeah, I guess you could say that I’m not using this site to write about whatever the hell I want. How about that! And, it’s not something I’d advise anyone to do, which makes it all the more amusing for me at this point.
It’s a fun spot. So what’ll I be talking about? Whatever I want, remember?
Some potential subjects (AKA, some things that keep me up at night) include the following.
- Freelance Writing and Editing
- BlissFire Media News and Updates
- Social Media/Social Media Marketing
- Internet Technology
- Personal Development
- Weight Loss
- Fitness and Health
- Toxic Relationships and Narcissism
- And whatever else sounds good to me that day.
- I might rant.
- I might rave.
- I might review.
You’ll never know.
And yeah, I am totally aware that this is a completely unacceptable format for any blog that expects to make money or get read–and yep, I do recognize the irony in a blogging and online marketing expert who doesn’t follow her own advice on her blog.
But guess what? I’m totally fine with it. Partially because I do realize I’m not some celebrity that everyone wants to hear from–and I’m totally OK with it (I’m just here to feed the muse)–but also because, honestly, when it comes to this particular site, I am my own demographic. So I’ll talk about what I want. And I won’t mind if you read it–and I will seriously encourage you to tell me what you think, whether you agree with me or not.
